Earned Schedule Metrics

ProjectFlightDeck Express offers the most commonly used ES metrics. The ones represented in guidelines and standards from organizations such as PMI, DCMA, and ISO.

Earned Schedule (ES): the amount of schedule (i.e., time) earned; the time at which the value currently earned (the EV) should have been earned (the PV)

Schedule Performance Index for time (SPIt): the efficiency with which time is being used on the project; calculated as the amount of Earned Schedule (ES) / the Actual Time (AT)

Schedule Variance for time (SVt): the difference between the time earned (ES) and the actual time (AT)

Estimate at Completion for time (EACt): the estimated duration of the project; the estimate assumes that schedule performance efficiency in the future will be comparable to that in the past; calculated as the SPIt / ES

Estimated Completion Data for time (ECDt): the estimated completion date for the project; calculated as the Project Start Date plus the EACt

To-Complete Schedule Performance Index for time (TSPI): the schedule performance level required to meet the planned completion date--compare to threshold value of 1.1 to determine feasibility of recovery
